The action was hot this weekend under blue skies at Honey Brake Gun Club as high temperatures fell to the low 80’s. Delta Waterfowl’s Louisiana branch held its regional meeting at Honey Brake Lodge and was able to take advantage of the beautiful weather, sending 45 shooters to take part in a 100 round sporting clays competition on Honey Brake’s state of the art, 15 station sporting clays course.
Being avid wingshooters, high scores were expected across the board and Delta Waterfowl’s shooters did not disappoint, with the top three shooters all posting scores over 90 and a 93 taking first place overall. That is no easy task for a shooter’s first time on our course. Prizes ranged from ice chests and apparel donated by Delta Waterfowl sponsors, to merchandise donated by Honey Brake Gun Club.
While the competition was great, the most important thing was that all the Delta Waterfowl members were able to stay safe, have a great time and enjoy great camaraderie. We at Honey Brake Gun Club sincerely appreciate all the compliments we received on our facilities and sporting clays course this weekend and hope to see Delta Waterfowl host more events with us in the future.
